What servo zoom lens for AF100 that compares to new Canon XF305 zoom?

I'll mirror what Barry said. I had a Sony V1U 3 chip miniDV cam with 20x zoom. I finally got rid of it, and replaced it with a Panasonic AC130A. I have had an AF100 since February (was shooting on a GH2 since 2011 before that).

I have been using the AF100 for event work, but it wasn't easy. That's both jobs where I'm walking around and getting coverage for a promotional video (lots of handheld), AND jobs where I have to film an entire ceremony all the way through without stopping.

I got a Tamron 17 - 50mm F2.8 lens to go with the AF100. It's of course, all manual, but it provides a lot of flexibility with run and gun setups. But since it still wasn't doing everything I needed and since I needed two cameras to cover the all-the-way-through event work, I just got the AC130A a couple of weeks ago. Like Barry said, all the menus match up, as well as much of the button functionality. And it's easy to sync timecode if you ever needed to. For 4:2:2, you could just rent one of those recorders since it's not frequent work.
