GH1 What OIS mode when shooting video

I have been using Mode 1 (OIS active all the time) when shooting video. But I still notice noticeable shake. Part of it is technique but may be other factors.

Most noticeable when I'm walking. A lot of up and down shake.

Does Mode 3 work better for these situations or will I just have to learn to hand hold a lot tighter?

I am using a hacked GH1 and usually in FHD mode.

The GH1 manual mentions that mode 1 is the only OIS setting in video recording. Rolling shutter will be the cause of most of your shake. To prove that, lodge the camera on something and then pick it up and move it. It'll be stable until it's moved reasonably violently and then the picture will break up badly. Tripod is best, a good sholder brace is next. Totally hand-held is pretty well a no no, unless you do 'moonwalk' with it.
Also don't forget that there is only so much that the little prisms in the OIS equipped lens can cope with. Great for slight wobbles, even long lenses on a tripod benefit from OIS but there are times when it'll make some movements even worse.

Thanks. I figured as such.

I know this may not be a fair comparison, but on most camcorders their image stabilization does seem to work better, less wobble.

That's because of the smaller sensor. Shoot 720p 60fps if you want less wobble.
