What is wrong with this Konova slider?

Greetings, I hope someone here might be of some help. I just purchased a Konova K3 slider and the part that houses the roller bearings wobbles from side to side quite a bit. The wobbling stops when I open up the plate and tighten the nuts but then it doesn't slide smoothly and is very stiff.

Could this be a defect or is this product just not very good? I made a video of the problem and posted below. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your video is flagged as private so I can't view it. My guess is that you are not adjusting the slider properly as the one I had was perfect. You are probably over tightening it. Try putting a piece of paper on one rail when adjusting - see the Kessler video on their site for details.

Can no one answer this question? I have the Konova slider as well and when I but the Manfrotto head on it either leans forwards or backwards and does a lot of wobbling. Huge pain in the ass!

i recently bought a konova slider due to the price, and fairly decent reviews id been reading. But to be honest i was really disappointed, obviously i didn't expect the perfect slider due to the price range, but the resistance screw threaded itself on second use, and with a 503 head on it with the GH2 it has so much forward and backwards movement thats the footage is practically unusable. i now wait for the Edelkrone Slider plus to be released on jan 4!

The two issues are that the adjustment nuts are anything but precise, and the track is too narrow.

I think they mostly intend these for use in non fluid head movement. Meaning you just set the camera angle and then slide, no pan/tilting. These linear tracks were designed for things like precor machines with only down force, no side to side pressure.

I "fixed" my konova by simply doubling the price. I took two of them and bolted them together with some cheese plates. Now it works like a dream. Think of it like standing heel to heel vs shoulder width

I know some will consider this a dolly but these are the ones I make and use on many big projects.

I am having the same issue, I'm uploading a photo of this problem...I'm using a 28-135mm lens and it's weighing the slider forward causing the base to touch, therefore causing friction and not sliding properly. Anyone have any idea how to fix this? Sorry not sure why the image is posting sideways...

As mentioned before...the rail is too narrow, 3-wheel rollers are tough to adjust properly (and keep adjusted). The rail is just standard ,inear motion rail manufactured by a company called "Yi-Tong" in China.
It is the IDS Linear Guide Rail.

Every question EVER asked about a slider has been answered and re-answered in my thread: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?145701-DIY-IndieSlider
I spend months trying various types of sliders and have had the best results (for over 4 years now) with the igus Drylin (or their roller hybrid version) products. You can't beat the price for such a professional quailty slider.

All you can really do with this type of roller slide is to adjust as best you can to keep the wobble to a minimum (and keep tools with you on a shoot to re-adjust)....and make sure you center the load. On a narrow rail you can't have too much weight hanging over the edge. I know a previous post said you get what you pay for, but in this case, you're not getting what you have paid for!

Ahh I'm a bit confused. I was almost ready to pull the trigger on one of these Konova sliders because of the price point. Everywhere online seems to have good reviews of the slider, and a lot of pretty decent sample shots that also include panning/tilting while sliding that seem to be okay. That's until I came to this thread, it makes me scared to even try Konova.. but can sample videos really lie? It seems like the slider has lots of potential and is very versatile, especially at it's price point.. but this is just from my research and not first hand testing.

Any input would be appreciated.

Konova sliders are useless, one of my bearings went out after a month of use, I called and ordered a new one (which btw they made me pay for), they sent me the wrong bearing, I've tried calling and email, they wont return any of my msgs or calls. Bad customer service and poorly designed products, sounds like a fail. I also have a K2, Cinevate & Kessler sliders, all of them work great and are easier to clean and maintain, just way heavier and bulkier than I need.

Soon as I get the new bearing I'm putting it on ebay, worthless gear, save your money.

I've got two buddies who also used Konova all having issues with their sliders.

I know how you feel. Which one would you recommend?
