I'm guessing this was another mockup? Can anyone shed any more light on this product?

I believe it lets you do some limited editing in the field. It may have a hard drive in it so you can off load card. then view clips. Hard to say though.
 
Looks expensive, but could be very cool. Probably to compete with Sony's field editing system used by network news. Would be one hell of a video assist!!

Also, anyone get the price for the new Panasonic 17' HD LCD Monitor? That was sure pretty and could be a nice addition in field.

I think it's gonna be around $3500, but I'm not 100% certain. It's a beautiful panel, great viewing angle & image quality, and it has a "control" lockout feature to allow you to prevent any "tweaking" of your settings.

I'm just guessing, but I would assume this device would serve the same purpose as a field feed deck--used in the same way a BVW-50 is used today. You need something in the sat/microwave truck to feed your footage. It also has to be a recorder so that you can record in-the-field pool feeds, etc.
