FS7: What is the Sony FS7 Sensor size?

I'm trying to figure out what the actual sensor dimensions of the Sony FS7 are? I've looked on line and have found 3 different Horizontal sizes specs: 22.6mm, 25.5mm and also 27.10mm.

Maybe Sony Guru Doug Jensen can chime in?

Thanks

Physical size of the sensor or size of the active area and in which format?

It's Super35mm. That's all I need to know.
Seriously, if I knew the answer I'd tell you, but it is not something that remotely interests me to find out. :-)

You could put a macro lens with precise magnification markings on FS7. At 1:1 magnification objects in front of the lens at the plane of focus are rendered the same size on the sensor. Therefore, in theory, if you set the lens to that 1:1 magnification and placed a precise ruler in front of the lens (flat, perpendicular to the optical axis) then by looking at the image in the EVF you could simply "measure" the sensor - it will see exactly as much as its effective size in given format. Most macro lenses such as Micro-Nikkor 55mm f/2.8 have such markings, in case of the 55mm Nikkor it goes only to 1:2 magnification, you need an additional macro tube to go to lifesize 1:1. Markings on the macro lenses are quite precise but remember that the accuracy of such method will depend on how precise the whole optical system is (in example, if you have an adapter which does not follow back focus distance perfectly, then the 1:1 marking will not mean exact 1:1 magnification).

My notes indicate 27.1mm, but I believe it is clearly noted in the manual. If you don't have one you can download it from the Sony website.

Edit: I'm a nice guy so I dug it up for you. The sensor is 23.6 mm x 13.3 mm, which yields a diagonal of 27.09mm, or 27.1mm for practical purposes.

For all you kids keeping score at home, that's A-squared + B-squared = C-squared

This will of course change, depending on the format you're shooting. You only get full width with 4k/2k. HD and UHD will be cropped.

Of course. Based on that it's easy to calculate that for HD and UHD these dimensions are roughly 22.503mm x 12.658mm , diagonal 25.82mm
