I am proficient at AVID but was considering switching to possibly Adobe Pr Pro maybe.

I just got my 7D and am curious what most people consider the easiest system to edit the HDSLR footage with.

thanks.

Whatever system you know best. Unless you are using a really old version of AVID, I fail to see what a switch will really do for you.

I almost hate to say it, but I'm loving FCPX with my 5D footage. Super fast to work with. I watched a couple of online tutorials and was hooked.

hey, if it works for you - USE IT!

Thanks guys -- I am using Avid 3.1.3 on a laptop

I was just trying to import something and need to figure out the workflow - because I haven't been using it with a 7D.

I have to figure all this stuff out.

Adobe Premiere will work with your footage natively with no transcoding.

As will Sony Vegas. In fact, just about all the current iterations of NLEs work great with DSLR footage natively, aside from FCP (not counting X, although I'm glad some folks for enjoying it).

I have an Adobe CS5 setup I use for collaborative projects, but for everything else I really find Vegas to be the most intuitive and fastest to crank out a quick project with. Its really too bad people don't give it as much of a chance these days. I've dabbled in everything else, and always come back.
But, as you've already seen, you'll likely get a different answer from each person. NLEs are totally subjective and you have to pick what works for your style and workflow.
