Hi All,

What is the best steadicam unit to use with the HVX200 camera?

And would it be okay for someone around 100-120lbs to use?

Pls help. :dankk2:

We have the Steadicam Flyer using the DVX100A cameras. Since this camera is only 4lbs, we had to add some weight, around 5 or 6 lbs to add some load to the arm. I hear the HVX weight is a little bit more but you would most likely need to do the same. As far as your weight, I have seen some women flying a master series Steadicam with a full bolwn 35mm camera. I think you would be fine with the Flyer. Just practice and maybe attend a Steadicam workshop. Check out Tiffens website on the Flyer specs.:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Thanks!
I'm looking at the Steadicam Flyers, and I'm not sure which one to get:

Sony V-Mount Battery Mount
Anton Bauer Battery Mount
NP-1 Style Battery Mount

Does anyone know? For the HVX200?

Thanks...

We have the NP1 Batts due to them being inexpensive along with a quick charger. I think BigStein is getting ready to convert over to some v mounts.
With the NP1s, you have to lower your battery arm adjustment to take them out for charging therfore rebalancing is going to have to be redone.

I would really consider the v mounts. The Flyer is awesome!:love4:

Yup, Flyer all the way. I prefer the V-mounts
You can get IDX V-mount batteries and a charger (or together as a kit) From Tiffen/Steadicam.

I comented more on your power options in the thread in DVX Technical.
