Hey everybody,

I'm shooting some scenes in slo-mo and love the HVX for its ability to shoot true slo-mo at 60 frames in 24PN... but is there a better setting to shoot slo mo and change it in post so I don't lose the sharpness.

I find the 24PN 60 frames just makes the image a little soft.

I'm thinking maybe shoot 60p 60 frames and then slow it down in post???

Let me know what you think.

you can shoot in 720 60p 60 and then conform to 24p in cinema tools if you're a mac user. that option also gives you sound, where as over cranking you lose the ability to record sound.

dude, i'm so glad that you said that. I shot some test footy today at 720/24pN with the frame rate at 60 and was confused about not having any audio. lol

Why not try a high detail scene file and also add a higher shutter speed? Rather than 1/48th, try 1/60th or even 1/120th? It will have a sharper, more detailed look.

I use my normal setting as F5, then for F6, I duplicated but cranked up the detail, vertical detail and coring to the five area. May not be the best setting for SD finish but for HD finish, it looks much sharper.

Best,

Dan
