What is happening to my audio?

I'm filming on my P2 card in DV format. I then log and transfer into Final Cut 6 directly from the camera. When I watch the clips in the browser there is sound, but when I drop it into the timeline the sound just disappears. In the past I have copied the files onto my hard drive then taken them into Final Cut, could the fact that I'm taking the clips directly from the card be affecting the way my audio is being handled? Please help me out.
 
Are you shure you have all Audio Tracks selected in the Timeline?

Or perhaps something with the Final Cut audio settings is wrong perhaps u have to check them.

Everything is fine in the timeline. I don't know where the problem would be in the settings because I have Final Cut change the format settings when it prompts me too upon putting the first clip in the timeline.
