What is going on here? Interlacing?

I recently shot a industrial video in what I thought was 1080p 24, and I'm noticing some weird interlacing going on. I thought that its recorded in a 1080i package but in progressive 24 frames.

The inspector says the footage is 1080p 30fps.

You say you shot 1080 30p, and then you said you recorded 1080i but 24p...

If you shot 1080/24p, yes there will be interlacing unless you remove the pulldown. So how are you editing the footage?

I thought I recorded 24p but the video rate in the FCP browswer says 29.97. When I drop the footage into the fcp timeline it creates a sequence with a 29.97 timebase. Should i still be removing the pulldown? I'll give it a shot.

Could this be the culprit. I was doing some capturing recently of some old minidv stuff so when I checked my capture presets, it was set to dv. Do I need to kick it over dvcprohd 108024pa which should automatically do the pulldown and give me true progressive material. Or is there a work around in cinema tools or something? sorry for the confusion, learn as I go!

Well, this is all becoming FCP-specific questions, so I'm moving the thread over to our FCP forum so you'll get some good solid answers.
