What is everyone's job?

I guess this should be sort of obvious but maybe not. Is everyone here a videographer/cinematographer/etc as their main source of income or do some people have day jobs and shoot as a side-gig?

As for myself I work as an A/V Tech for a production company that specializes in satellite uplinks and mobile production. I've worked in various freelance set positions (camera operator, AC, G&E) in the past and I don't care for it.

So what does everyone else do?

And I apologize if this topic was covered already, i checked back 20 something pages before making this.

My part time job is as a TV stage manager/studio tech. Then I freelance shooting whatever pays the bills (web videos, weddings, and some Major League Soccer).

But when I'm not doing that, I'm busy implementing my plans for world conquest...

Own a small software consultancy focused on high-volume, large scale enterprise implementations, but this year transitioning into more mobile work. Now starting to plan strategy for first major mobile client. National brand that could really send us on the way in that space. Want to grow and by 2011, combine software and film into one "media company."

Editor/Cameraman/Cinematographer for high school sports events. Longest freelance job I've ever had, almost going to be a year now. I'm going to be dreading summer because of the heat...

i haven't worked since 2007. :cheesy:

What is the secret to your success?!

"I'm a Love Machine and won't work for nobody but you!"

Ok, maybe not.. I actually have a day job as a telecommuter doing regulatory compliance case work for a large private health insurance company. We do escalated issue problem solving for Medicare beneficiary's who have problems with their Medicare Part D insurance plans that can not be solved by normal customer service processes.

I have previously worked as a Paramedic, and Paramedic Supervisor in Detroit MI.

I also currently own a video production company making money shooting SD event and local promotional videos. I also shoot guerrilla fictional narrative shorts, features and music videos and have done that since 1990. I am on track to move exclusively to HD production by the first of 2011.

Full-time Web/Graphics guy, and recently online marketing for films and websites.

I run it all out of my company Praise Pictures Inc. Also finishing up my first feature film due in US/Canada Christian Stores in August...looking forward to being able to get the ball rolling on another project sometime soon. That's where I really want to be but for now the web, graphics, and marketing pays the bills.

I work as a shoeshiner at the San Diego International Airport. I also now manage the concession and it's 4 locations in San Diego on behalf of Goodfellows Shoeshine (based in Las Vegas, with locations on the strip, McCarren airport, Phoenix airport, San Diego airport, and soon SFO as well). Random, eh?

Motion Picture & Television Art Director, Set Designer, Graphic Designer, Digital Modeler and Animator.

I was once a part-time arms dealer but I got out of that business around 1991.

...oh and my job? i put stacks of milk in crates onto pallets at a dairy from 6pm-3am inside a refrigerated warehouse. talk about FUN.

I hope this is true... your already interesting films just got way more interesting... kind of like the Tarantino story.

As for me? I used to have a friend who called me MSI... for multiple sources of income... some years I make more with video and sound work... some years I make more through a variety of other work... but it's always a MSI combo.
