What is everyone's day job?

My name is Amahp and I currently run a small recording sound studio where I provide orginal scores for low budget filmmakers. My dream is to score for a big motion picture one day.

I am lucky enough to earn my living as a shooter. I have a film background but sort of left that crazy life about three years ago. Now I shoot docs, magazine style shows, commercials, and some corporate things. I have gotten into producing my own corporate jobs, my body has taken a beating the last dozen years so it is time for somebody else to lug all the gear.
Horse, Monte, if what you guys say is true about Minnesota I am looking forward to my moving day.

I'm a freelance corporate roadie, otherwise known as an A/V tech. I get to set up the big corporate functions in the hotel ballrooms. We put in the screens, fly projectors and lights, set up audio systems with wired and wireles mic kits, build the tech control tables that run the presentation software, camera feeds audio mixing boards and lighting. I also design the odd show, usually local stuff, then I'm building the presentation using Macromedia Director (a lot more versatile than Powerpoint) To fill in the gaps I paint houses for a local contractor.

Rich, did you used to work at VisionArt?

I was one of the founders of a software company that developed software for the entertainment industry and retired about three years ago after we sold it to Apple. [Although the sale had little to do with my retirement, I just got tired of working in that industry. People take themselves way to seriously - you'd think they were curing cancer.]

Now I'm trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up.

I am a Production Artist, Expert Production Artist and the Production Art Trainer for a .com t-shirt printing company, www.customink.com
I use lots of Illustrator cleaning up customer designs, redrawing uploaded customer art and training new hires in the slower periods.
PM me for a code to get a discount :)

first year university student... spend most of my days doing homework and term papers :(
although I, I like to procrastinate and A.D.D. it up by watching a few movies in a row or lurking DVXuser

summer job will be making movies :) pay is nil

I am an IT consultant. That means I am basically an overpaid whore. :lipsrseal

I keep wondering whether, as a whore, I should at least enjoy the job. Of course, with enjoyment times pay being a constant, I am trying to figure out what to do with the rest of my life. Pretty pathetic for someone past his mid-life crisis, huh?

EDIT:
What I really want to do is DP.

Run video production company.
Left secure job to strike out on my own after 30 years as a broadcast journalist.
Will not be exotic dancing any time soon.
At least not for other people.
Just finished two pretty big projects.
But it's week to week,---you know,---like it's supposed to be.
Hanging off the edge of a cliff.
Exilerating!
What have I done?
Are you all hobbyists?

By day I am a Systems Engineer for a Credit Card processing Company.

By Night I run Hart Studio, I hoping to quit my day job real soon. I am getting closer to being able to do so! I just need to quit buying toys......!!!

I get paid for going to school, so I guess you could call me a professional student. I am currently in my final year at Central washington University, and am majoring in photography. My wife works full time at a bakery, she just graduated last year, and is waiting for me to do so-so that we can leave this godforsaken hick town. I do enjoy getting money for doing photography and short film projects, but it all has to end sometime. In my spare time I shoot wedding videos (can't stand doing it, but more and more people keep hireing me). I am taking a psycology class to learn how to say "NO" to people. I also work occasionally at a photography studio making ugly people look, well, less ugly, although there are some lookers every now and then.

I work as a freelance financial interim manager for non profit organizations. I want to do some filmmaking and have collected my toys, but finding enough time is my biggest issue.
