Hey i am in the market of buying a handheld rig for my camera I just wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions for a rig or something of the sort

I would check out the Manfrotto Fig Rig or some of the Zacuto Hardware. Please note that we are also a dealer for the Zacuto hardware, however, the Zacuto products aren't on our site yet. Please call to order.

how much does the Zacuto sytem cost with the grips, and plates for the camera , fs100, battery and monitor...

man, the zacuto stuff is expensive as HELL! borderline extortionate in fact. but its the BEST RIG out there!!!

i priced one out and it was over $3000 (rods, plates, shoulder pad, z grips, 2 zamerican articulated arms, case) but i think im gonna spring for it as every other setup ive used felt really wonkly. the zacuto stuff is built like a brick shitter!

my phillosophy on gear is "buy once, buy WELL!"

I agree with wgzn. I bit the bullet on a zacuto universal base plate, both 7 & 10 inch extension rods, Q-release, shoulderpad, and some accessory mounts for the noga arm. I wanted the z-american large arm instead of the noga because I heard it was lighter and stronger. I also wanted the z-grips. I ended up subbing both pieces for the noga and cavision grips to cut costs.

I really love the q-release with shoulder pad. It makes hand held to locked down transitions quick.

I need more weight in the rear of the rig to balance it out, but I refuse to purchase their 11lb lunchbox. I just cant justify paying that kinda money for weight. But as they say on their website, you need the balance to make their rigs work the way they should.

Only problem with zacuto grips: Its so sexy and pricey, that I'm too conscious of scratches and scuffs....

Cavision's rod and handle system can be used with any 15mm rod equipped matte box system. It's not super light, but not too heavy either.
