I just signed up today and having problems doing searches.

Is there a place on this site to send messages to the administrator or a forum on here to report technical problems with the site?

I keep getting this message but i assume it is due to so many people searching at once, etc. and causing server problems.

What is a good editing software package that works with HMC150 format.
I have only used consumer camcorders and looking to buy the hmc150 but checking up on all the extras I would need to have good support items for the camcorder ( software editing package, tripod, filters, etc.).

Basically will be using the hmc150 for home movies of grandkids/family, interviews, church work.

Maybe the search box will work for me tomorrow so i can find what has already been written about editing software for hmc150.

Bill, Welcome to the board. The search very rarely works for me....!

The first thing you need to specify when talking about software is .......Windows, Linux or Mac!

Sorry about that. I have always use Windows. Would all the software mentioned here so far work with Windows XP and Vista.

I have both Edius Neo 2.5 and the full version of Edius 5.5. Both versions edit AVCHD natively in real time. You don' t need a super fast computer or any fancy hardware. Oh and by the way, Neo 2.5 is also called Neo Booster.

You could try Neo, which is cheaper and if it has everything you need, you are good to go. If you find you need a nicer titler, multi-cam or other things that Neo does not offer, you could always upgrade to Edius 5.5.

Bother versions work with XP, Vista and Windows 7.

You can try out either version for 30 days with a free download from their site.

Final Cut Pro.. Its the industry leader now and you'll not only have a great editing program but you can land some gigs with it too...

I checked out a few demo's online and I really like the EDIUS Neo 2.5. Thanks for your suggestions.

I don't own a Apple product (except an Ipod) so I'll bypass the Final Cut.

i used premiere a lot in the past.... but there have been several problems with codecs and stuff on my system

so i checked out some other apps... and now i'm going with edius

I'd look at Adobe Premiere Pro. I use the CS4 version and it works very well with my i7 based system. I would look at the newer CS5 release. Have also heard a lot of very good things about Sony Vegas 9, very definately worth looking at.
