What if...

NO CA$H

a whole bunch of DVXUsers got together and made a feature film with the HVX and Panasonic or somebody produced it? Do you think something like that is possible?

An idea was brought up over on a different thread on what to do next for the DVX Fest that I thought was great...

You could have everyone work on a 6 min short that all shared a common object. The story could be what ever you wanted as long as the object was used as a MacGuffin. Then you could take all these shorts and put them together into a feature... Could work.

I think this idea would be great since not everyone could get on a plane and meet at one specific location.

Who would decide who gets to make a part and who doesnt? And of who gets to make a segment, who decides what is trash and what isnt?

There was something similar to that last year. It was called The EGG Series. A filmaker created the first episode, which featured an egg, then another filmmaker would take over the story from where the last filmmaker left it. And so on and so on. It got to be VERY strange VERY quickly. By episode 6 the egg was in space. I think it got to episode 9 before cracking apart (pun intended).

If done in an official DVXuser capacity (promoted well) the results might be much better. Do it!

Funny, I was just thinking about this about a week ago, when fantasizing about winning the lottery that I don't play.

You could have people submit films in a contest for specific, technical catagories such as directing, writing, cinematography, etc. Then the winners of all the key departments would be brought together to shoot the film.

Maybe, even start with a script writing competition co-sponsored by one of the big screenwriting mags.

Here I go again. I'd better get out there and buy a ticket. :)
