Just saw the trailer... interesting. What'd you shoot on? One thing in the trailer, I'd try to cut even faster toward the end, leading up to the sniper shot, and crank that line "What is our mission!" even louder, over black, and then a barrage of images, ending with the woman starting her news cast, and then fading to the title.

It's shot on a 2 cameras mainly. Weirdly. We did have access to an HVX... sadly... The guy backed out. We used mainly a DVC30, and an XL1.

I know it's pretty low-tech comparatively to what I know everyone else is using, but we're a poor bunch :P We really tried to get the highest quality we could though.

Nice man! As for the CGI work for free...I have a bit of CGI work for my upcoming short film, I found my guy through another guy from CGTalk.com. At CGTALk, there are a lot of brilliant professional-grade (and professional) modelers....thousands of them in fact. I just posted a topic and then sent about 20 emails out to different guys, knowing at least one of them would be interested. The thing is most of them were interested so I got to choose. We need our VFX pretty soon so it came down to the guy who could spare the most time.

It all depends on how much work you need done, I've done several projects (mainly game design projects) where the work has been good for a while but then people start to flake. People get busy and when they're not getting paid it can be left at the bottom of their priority list. But I'm sure you'll be able to find someone, and goodluck with the film. Be sure to keep us all posted.

The trailer looks pretty good, I agree with Brandon on the faster cuts towards the end, and bringing out the "what's our mission" line.

Perfect.

Some great shots in there, bust some a little bit of a mixed bag on composition. I thought the sound was solid.... all EXCEPT for the punch sounded cheesy.

I understood these guys are sent in to take out a target, but not sure after that. I hazard a guess that something goes wrong and they have fight their way out, show us a bit more of that in the trailer.

In both the newscast sections, I didnt dig the framing much. Just a mid CU with her stcuk in the centre. Id go for a CU and have her off centre - throw something of interest on the opposite side in the studio shot, like an image with some text.

Maybe something like this - be aware I dont think this rendition is perfect as it was a throw together as part of a blue screen test.
