What I want in a m4/3 lens...

According the the m43 Rumors website, Olympus is supposed to make some new "Pro m4/3" lens announcements around the end of June, that is to include at least one fast pro-quality wide-angle. I hope this is true, especially if the rumors of a 12mm f/2 or faster lens pan out. ( yes a 12mm f/2 lens might cost close to $1K, but I would definitely buy one )

Me too, but I'm hoping for full manual and stops on the focus ring. I would pay $1K for that.

I would not be that interested in that personally, though I am sure many would be... I already have the 12mm range covered with the tokina, and at 2.8 it is as fast as I really need for an ultra wide (and after testing it today on the RED, I love it more as it covered nicely at 11mm at 4K 2:1 (I did have to gaff tape the aperture open though, lol).... I do wish that the tokina had a bloody aperture ring, and that would be the only reason I would really consider it over the tokina frankly... although that extra stop would be really nice, I can live with 2.8 on my ultrawides...

I still want to see a pretty much what you are describing, but as a 7mm f/2.8 (or a f/2 in my dreams, doubt anyone would make one though)... I would be all over that like white on rice. An acceptably fast (f/2.8 at least) ultra-ultra wide is what dream about for m4/3 and really would want to see most.

I am not saying there are not enough fast wides for m4/3. I have the tokina, and frankly have rarely used it wider than 16mm, and the f/2.8 is great for a lens with the coverage it has (it will cover FF at 15-16mm).... I just want a rectilinear 7mm f/2.8 for those once in a blue moon occasion when I want to rock out and have fun with something extremely super wide, and being able to do that in lower light would be fun, not to mention it would be a fun unique lens to keep in the kit.
