Hey guys,

I was toying around with using the zoom at full wide angle for a wierdo vibe on my next thing, but I dont want the ladies to look too much like freakazoids so I probably wont do it.

Anyways...

Can someone tell me what generall lens angle is being uses here (dont need an exact number cant use it anyway)? Im guessing its like a wide to mid? noone looks distorted too much

this may just be a duh question.

the thing to do is clearly for me to just soot some tests and see what the hv20 (yeah you heard) does to portraiture at different lens angles.

In that music video, the focal length changes. In fact I bet they used a zoom lens. However, I get what you're asking.

I would say the wide shots are like 24mm on a full-frame camera (example).

But you might get the same vibe you're looking for with something milder, like 35mm on a full-frame (example). A lot of photographers love that focal length. Just wide enough to have that dynamic feel, but not too weird.

Considering that everything is in focus in that clip, there also may have been a considerable amount of reframing.

The Human League was pretty big by the time this clip came out, so it may have been shot on 35mm film, as was their earlier "Don't you want me?". However, given the English budgets, it could have also been a video job.
