Hi, newbie question here, I would like to put a filter on my pancake to protect it - what should I get?

Don't put cheap glass in front of a good lens. Try to find a lens hood for it, I personally wouldn't want to put filters on front of my lenses. If you decide to put one you need a 46mm filter which you can find anywhere and I recomend b+w or tiffen filters.
