What Film Magazines do you guys read?

Any good local film mags out there? I'm new to the film arena, and thirsty for knowledge.

I'm looking for a weekly publication that deals with news, classifieds, and everything related to low budget film making..

Something like Back Stage West, but you know, for film people, not actors.

Oh ya, and by Local, I mean southern california oriented....

As great a resource as the internet can be, sometimes I like to just have a comforting subscription to some hard copy.

DV Magazine But it's getting thinner every month.
RES Magazine (although never enough technical information in the articles--stick with American Cinematographer for the real deal.)

T & A too! But its not the same one PK is talking about.

The only Filmmaking related magazine I suscribe too iss:

POST
Filmmaker
Playboy
DV magazine

"Broadcast engineering" ..what can I say? I'm a Techie.

Also read DV on occasion.

The main hard copy source for me is the forum-printouts that I do. I have a nice set of folders going of most things said in many forums..

American Cinematographer is the sh*t!

I also get Videography and Milimeter, what the heck they are free. I have been waiting for my subscription to DV to kick in, but it's been a while, need to call and check on that.

Just bought an issue of "Independent" at Borders. Looks really good, I will likely subscribe. Every article is of interest to me, have not seen a cover-to-cover magazine in a while.

American Cinematographer and Scr(i)pt, though it's less "subscription" per se as it is checking at Barnes and Noble around once a month and either (a) walking happily back to my car, magazines in hand, or (b) stalking back to my car and muttering a stream of inaudible curses because they've stocked 97 copies of Us Weekly but couldn't get around to updating the geek section. Bleagh...

Oh, and this may or may not fit he category, but Cinefex is the shiznit.

Independent Filmmaker is a great magazine. I have a subscription to DV magazine and I think it's an excellent source for digital filmmaking. They review every major product out on the market and talk about the pros and cons in detail. The magazine is also a good read to figure out the lingo of digital filmmaking.

I'm sure with in the next few months they'll have a review on the HVX, once they get the specs on it.

Subscribed to:

American Cinematographer.
Creative Screenwriting.

And sometimes I'll pick up an issue of Wired, which is more general to geek technology stuff and good articles.
