What ever happened to EVS?

Recently I bought some video light equipment from EVS.

Part of the order was a lamp. To make a long story short, they made a mistake and sent the wrong voltage of lamp, it was useless for my Pag 6. Well, they said it was "such a little amount of money" it didn't make sense for "me" to send it back to them and then they return the correct lamp (at my cost).

What was their mistake became my problem (and my cost!). You would have thought that since it was such "a little amount of money" they would have tried to keep their customer happy by just sending the correct lamp out.

EVS's website has a customer service section for resolving issues. After a couple of days I decided to email the customer service department. You know they never even replied to my email!

I am just glad that reputable companies like B&H are around. First off they probably would never have made the mistake but secondly if they did they would certainly have made an effort to keep a customer.

This was my first experience with EVS and my last. If they can't handle an order that had a $12.00 error, do you think I would trust them for a more substantial amount?

I bought my HVX from them (back when Rush was there). Always regretted his leaving . . . until he did the DCT stuff, which is really great. Still, I'd recommend picking up the phone and giving them a call because, you're right they would not want to lose a customer over a $12 lamp. Somebody dropped the ball but I would bet it's not indicative of their overall reputation. Call 'em!
