What does P2 store again.

I'm trying to work this out but there are so many conflicting sources of information it's incredible.

When shooting using P2 what Information is carried across to your editing program or the P2 viewer? For example can you check back on what camera you shot the footage on? Will it record exposure? How about lens settings (zoom or focus)?

On an SLR, even a 35mm model you can record shutter speed and aperture settings. I currently use a very simple single chip JVC video camera and have only shorts on 16mm so I have no experience of this stuff.

Any illumination would be great but I'll be just as grateful if someone could point me in the direction of some exhaustive information.

P2 can store anything and everything -- camera data, voice tags, low-res proxies, etc. The card is capable of storing any type of info. I think the better question is -- what will the HVX write to the P2 card? And that answer is, as far as I know, not known yet.

Thanks Barry

I knew what P2 could do, as you say it's all about what the HVX will do. Guess it's wait and see. I'm sure I'll have plenty of time to research between the HVX release and it's appearence in the UK.
