I've been using 5.23 for a while and am wondering if there's any reason to shake up my system with an upgrade. Has anything big changed?
What does 5.6 offer over 5.23?

Full screen playback on a PC monitor is nice. A few more supported formats. It's worth the $50 in my opinion, but I'm a notorious upgrader whether I need the new features or not.
If you're system is fine and doing everything you need it to then that's a compelling argument to not change anything.

Yeah, the full-screen playback is the only thing that I've really found useful: however, it randomly doesn't work... hopefully they'll make it more reliable soon.
There's a theory that running any other video app before running Avid (e.g. Media Player) will confuse it so full screen playback stops. I haven't tested that myself, but it seems plausible as rebooting normally gets it working again.
