GH2 What do you want to see from a Kickstarter campaign?

It's not technically off-topic, as I am using a Gh2!!

I was thinking about doing a kickstarter to try and get additional funds for my next short, but for some reason, I just don't know what would appeal to people in terms of getting them to donate. There's the obvious, donate $xx and you get this, but seriously, what can you actually give someone besides a credit a copy and a high five? Do you think handing out a story is a good idea? Or just give a basic synopsis? I don't think I will do a kickstarter, but it would be nice to see what fellow filmmakers think when it comes to giving money to another filmmakers' project. Should I at least attempt it? And if nothing comes of it, no gain, no loss...right? Oh btw, I'm accepting donations!! If you feel obliged. I've been a user here long enough and have contributed a major amount of effort to helping others!! Well, not really. I'll be honest.

The question I asked myself when i did it was "what would convince *me* to donate?" And that helps you weed out a lot of perks that most people don't really care about. I think most importantly, allowing backers to see the movie at a fairly low donation level is essential. Whether you let them download it, or receive a DVD, the backbone of crowdfunding a movie is that you are "pre-selling" it. I wrote up everything i tried and learned here...
