What do you use to transport FS100

I was hoping someone could point me in a direction to a good case for the FS100.

What do you guys use to transport your FS100?

Has anyone found a good Anvil, Porta Brace or pelican case that fits and protects the fs100 well?

Thanks for any suggestions or input.

Do you mean a case for the FS100 to ride in solo? I typically keep it in the case with my camera, batteries, matte box, etc. I like to keep everything together so I don't have to go rummaging through multiple cases to assemble gear on location.

Hey Jim,

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I was wondering if anyone has found or created a small case that fit the FS100 nicely.

Do you protect it with anything inside your camera bag or just put it in a pocket in the bag?

I just expected the FS100 case to be more rugged, rather than the plastic shell it is, and I'd like to protect it a bit while bringing it to shoots. I'm just worried about putting it in my porta brace camera bag without any protection in fears that the plastic shell might crack or the on button get bummped and kill my battery driving to location.

Thanks for the response.

Like Jim, I prefer to have fewer things to loose track of. I keep my Firestore in a Pelican along with my Marshall monitor and my Dolgin battery charger.

We transport it in a separate compartment in the cam bag. We always try to keep it as ventilated as possible, but in a soft pouch in the bag.

Yes, I would agree with Jim as well, try to keep as much stuff together as possible.

I was just wondering if anyone had found a smaller. secure and protective case that would fit the FS100. It would most likely end up in a porta brace production bag with all the other stuff, but, be protected.

Really, I'm just trying to see what others are doing/using in hopes of finding a unique solution to protect the FS100.

Thanks again for the replies. Any other ideas would be appreciated.

I really like the Geardear Firestore cage which provides protection as well as rail mounting capabilities for my FS-100. If I am flying international and limited in carry-on baggage, I have sometimes transported the HVX and the Firestore in a roll-aboard suitcase using a combination of foam padding, the Geardear cage and underwear to secure everything. Ordinarily, I transport it in a cut-out in a Pelican case.

Thanks nsoltz! I didn't even know about the Geardear Firestore cage, I'm going to check into that.

Much appreciated

Pelican (and others) make very small sized hard cases. All you have to do is pick one that works for you.

Kata also has an armored bag I like quite allot when travelling lite: LINK

There are many compartments you can totally customize the size and hide your FS-100, HVX200, Shotgun, AC, DC etc. Its not airline spec. BUT, you can manhandle it to fit into the overhead of commercial airlines (but not the regional sized carriers).
