What do you guys think about MySpace Music?

Until recently I never would have recommended it to anyone who was truly serious about their careers.
But some of the MySpace pages I've seen lately have really impressed me.
Here's one example:

http://www.myspace.com/alexawilkinson

upon first visiting her page, a studio recording will play, which immediately says " I'm already a recording artist "
Although the Design and Layout is a little dissapointing, you're struck not only by the fact that she's also made a music video, but also that this and other videos are available on her MySpace page.
The photography also adds to the professional feel of this page.

Is there a better option out there for a band/singer who's looking to "get discovered"?

I think, if used properly, MySpace Music can be a great tool for up and coming artists. In fact, it is funny that this thread would appear today because just last night my friend and I were talking about using MySpace when we get out band together.

Lots of aspiring artists use MySpace and YouTube to gain exposure. It's free and the whole world can see it!

Yep. The group Panic! At The Disco got big by word of mouth on Myspace. They also did what a lot of artists fail to do. They made all of their songs downloadable. When you're a no name band, the best way to get others to listen to your music is to give them a CHANCE to listen to it. Then, they can share it with others instead of saying, "I heard this one band, but I forgot their name"
