What do I need to tilt the camera on a tripod?

I have a sachtler tripod-head and would like to tilt the camera sideways, to pan from diagonal to straight horizon.
What piece of eqipment (not too pricey) do I need to accomplish that shot?

That is known as a Dutch, not to be confused with a Dutch Rudder. You usually see it in Photo tripods, but there are a few video heads capable of doing it as well. But in short, you need the right head for your tripod.

I don't have a Dutch-capable head on my tripod, but I manage to get a Dutch angle using a combination of the 75mm bowl leveling and alteration of leg lengths.

And Capt. Quirk, as we say here in Tennessee, you ain't right in the head.

Yeah, I just googled dutch rudder and got a bit of a shock.

You can get a seperate dutch axis that goes ontop of your normal pan / tilt head to add the roll axis.

We just did a shot exactly like the one you are describing. As C2V says, we used the bowl on the tripod. We loostened the bowl off, and had another operator holding onto the handle thing that sticks out under the tripod bowl, and then just tilted it on its side manualy as the camera panned....

There might be an easier way-

Mount your quick release plate 90 degrees on the cam, so tilt becomes roll.
