Geez Horse, I probably have more in common w/ you than most people on this board! I'll drink to that!
Being a Minnesota boy, you know I love the sound of gloves hitting the ice.:beer:

Isaac,

I thought it was a sex joke till I realized the beer mug. Damn. I sure am silly

I wrote it as a beer joke, realized it sounded like a sex joke, and then threw in the beer smiley face.

Double entendre biatch. :)

LOL

I read this thread starting from the post above mine and went backwards wondering what the hell was being talking about

But Hudson, my point is SOMEBODY gets paid to play it! AGH! SOMEBODY! Not necessarily you or I, I mean look at basketball - it wasn't a sport when some janitor was using a broom to pick a basket off a ledge everytime somebody scored a point. It became a sport when there were teams and money became involved!!!!
OKAY. Can't stand it anymore.

Monte, seriously - this is the most inane argument ever. Sport and money had nothing to do with each other - period. Sports existed long before anyone played anything professionally. In fact, in the history of sports, I believe more sports have been played non-professionally, and longer, than the professional sports.

It's like saying that artist is only someone who gets paid for painting. Come on! Your example with musicians? Are you really trying to make us believe that there is more 'musician-ness' in Eminem than marketing? Then you need to move out of Minnesota and join the real world.

Anyway - for everybody's amusement: ICE HOCKEY is a sport. Everything else is a game.

Seriously - I think as long as it is competitive, for some sort of publicly recognized award (medal, trophy, etc...), athletic (physical movement ), I'd call it a sport.
