My next phone will be the Blackjack II. I am very picky about phones and dont do long contracts just so I can "upgrade" phones whenever I want since I usually dont like what I have. I am a big fan of this phone as well as of Windows Mobile and it's apps. It's a very nice cross between phone and PDA. I will also add that I bought this phone when it was new and just a week or so before the iPhone came out, for the same price as the iPhone. iPhone=do not want.

It's a fantastic phone all around if you don't need the whole PDA deal. I love it, and best of all it is available with Verizon. That being said there are a lot of new phones that Verizon has that are great. Touchscreen is a big deal right now.

I wouldnt mind an iPhone touchscreen clone that operates with Windows Mobile/Pocket PC. But I would also want a physical querty keyboard too. I'm sure there will be alot more options when I get around to getting a new phone. (Not anytime soon.)

Got the new iPhone myself. I have a Mac and a PC so things are good.
I also love the keyboard. I wasn't a fan at first but once you get the hang of it it's a breeze.

Managed to get things going work-wise with VPN as well.

Cheers!

Blackberry Curve (8310). Hoping to upgrade to the BOLD soon. Tactile keyboard and reliability baby!

It's very hard to open it without pushing a button, which takes you to a menu screen, and then getting back to default is complicated. It locks the keypad in under two seconds, so if you pause to read something, it locks up on you. It's almost completely impossible to see the screen if you're outside. The joystick/button is WAAAAAY to sensitive, and it's a) really hard to select the right item, and b) very, very easy to push the button and make a selection you don't want when you're just trying to scroll through the options. Then, it's often complicated to get back to where you were to try again.

IMO, a very, very poorly-designed phone. It's as though they intentionally engineered it to suck.

Interesting. Thanks for the rundown. That's why I used to go through so many phones. They look nice and like they have nice features, but it's not until they are in your hands for a couple weeks that you realize they are a dud.

After being with AT&T (Cingular, SBC, Pac Bell) for 12 years, I switched to Verizon about 2 months ago and love it. I was tired of spending the amount of money I was spending with AT&T and them constantly treating me like crap, and my service was getting spotty. VERY glad I switched. Got one of these new Samsung i760's, awesome.

I finally got my boss to raise hell with the jerk who sold us our Verizon service (not with Verizon, but with a little local reseller) to replace the Motorola v325 that I've had for almost two years now, and hasn't worked right for that whole time. (It had a tendency to not ring when people called, and also to "lock up" and not respond at all, usually evidenced by looking at it in the morning and seeing "11:25pm" on the clock.) Admittedly, I was hoping for something a little newer (and cooler) than the used Motorola W315 that they gave me, but I have to see, the thing works. It always ring, and the sound quality on the calls is way better. Now, if the battery life wasn't so crappy...

Man, I hate having my company provide my phone...

i work for a cell phone company in canada and they gave most of us free blackberries so we'd understand data better.. so, yay, i have the Blackberry Pearl. i loveeeeee it. small like a cell phone, but i can do everthing a blackberry can like pinning (blackberry messenger), checking my email, internet, blah blah.. well a lot of phones can do that but this is the best one i've tried so far. :)
