What books will you recommend for a newbie?

Although I consider myself very experienced in the use of dSLRs, and have done some unpaid pro jobs, I am new to shooting videos. This is for making home videos about vacation, kids, etc, and not for a career in filming. I wonder whether you guys can recommend some books to read to learn the basic about filming. How to shoot, frame the shot, various techniques, etc ... Thanks.

i've never really subscribed to the " i learn it from a book" approach , i think picking tips up from these kind of forums are a great free way of learning stuff. I can't help with books.. but this web site really provides some great vids with the basics... such as framing = http://www.digitaljuice.com/djtv/detail.asp?sid=66&sortby=&page=1&rpid=0&rvid=0&swid=0&searchid=91592

Digital Juice website vids ... http://www.digitaljuice.com/djtv/default.asp?sortby=&page=1&cid=&swid=0

good luck.

The internet has plenty of info on filmmaking is you just search and search.

and have done some unpaid pro jobs,

If you do pro work you get paid, no matter if it is a small amount. If you don't get paid you are not a pro.
