FS7: What B&H said about the FS7.

I just spoke to yet another salesperson at B&H. As always, he was very helpful. Hiw opinion was that insofar as NETFLIX puts the FS7 on its accepted camera list (and not the FS5) it would be relevant to make that the benchmark limit when making movies. The FS5 does not cut mustard. However, he also said that for an independent filmaker it does not make a difference as a good movie will be shown anyways even if it is filmed with an FS5. So back to the basic question: If the Netflix cut off point something to consider when choosing a camera?

I agree. Unless you're being hired by Netflix to do a Netflix original, pay no attention. You need to find the best camera for you. If the movie is good, nobody will care what you shot on. I use an Ursa Mini 4K. It's the best choice for the projects I do. Picks what's best for you.

I’m with another manufacturer and I’m not trying to give misinformation in any way. I will point out that many clients & distributors use the Netflix benchmark to determine required deliverables. Before you make a camera decision, know your clients and what they expect.
