What are you listening to now ?

^Re: Porcupine Tree.

Reminiscent in ways of early Floyds ummagumma days.

Heard this ...?

Read ALL the comments under the video ..

eg: dick dale looks like he had one toke before they began singing.

My guess is that Welk must have heard this song on the radio, had no clue what "toke" meant, and thought it was a Gospel song.
I could just imagine him talking to his staff about "getting that Gospel song" on the show, and them not having the heart (or nerve)
to tell the man what it really was about.

one toke?? you poor fools.. wait till you see those goddamn bats..!!

...where is his left hand and why is she bouncing and smiling?

This is just too funny. I went to SongFacts and read what the writer has to say about pot being an almost spiritual experience.
So, maybe in that context is IS a modern-day spiritual. What I'd like to believe is that these LW singers knews EXACTLY
what they were singing about, but didn't let on to Larry. Hilarious.

Cheers.

@Alan Black. I must imagine "toke" had a different meaning in those days. LOL. (Still rings true today though. lol.)

//edit: And yes Gillvane "Biting Elbows-Bad" is worthy of a post in this "Great Works" thread. Awesome.

That was a beautifulll song by Lee Arron who has been singing jazz for years.
