What are we doing wrong?EVF and Atomos issue...

Trying to run a EVF from the hdmi at the same time as recording to an atomos samurai via SDI out of camera.

to record to the atomos you need to keep the output signal to 1080i/720p in the menu. But the the EVF (cineroid and smallhd dp4) will not get a signal.

Change the output to down convert and the EVzf works but not the atomos....

erm, help! What are we not doing?

Hi,

The HDMI output is disabled when using the SDI output if you have 24psf enabled. I don't have my own recorder here at the moment but with SDI on and 24psf off i can see my HDMI feed. Does the Samurai have HDMI pass through on it? for example i'm going to be using the Hyperdeck Shuttle V2 this week with the prores upgrade. The Hyperdeck has HDMI pass through no matter if the source is SDI or HDM. So, SDI out from the AF into the Hyperdeck, HDMI out from the Hyperdeck into the DP4-EVF. If the Samurai has this then you are in luck but you will lose the display overlays from the AF as you are getting the record signal into the EVF, when not using a recorder you can revert back to displaying overlays.

But from what i am seeing, if you are only trying to record the 1080 50/60i or 720p signal then with 24psf disabled you should be able to see your HDMI feed through the Cineroid.
