I am trying to purchase a DVX, but I cannot find the difference between the 100 and the 100A (except the price) Please help, I am looking to shoot weddings and music and the 24p setting is essential.

The DVX100 was discontinued almost two years ago; the DVX100A is its replacement.

They are fundamentally the same -- same CineGamma, same 24P, same awesome audio system, same lens, etc.

There are some software changes to the DVX100A, adding things like Squeeze mode (for 16:9 shooting) and slow shutter speeds, and "peaking" for easier manual focus. There are a couple of hardware changes, like a new prism for better color reproduction, and a closer minimum focus distance.

It's not a big, big deal -- but the "A" is better, definitely. The original DVX100 is a killer camera (I still have my DVX100, never even bothered to upgrade to an "A") but there's no doubt that the DVX100A is the preferable model.
