What are some decent LED panels out there nowadays?

if someone could concretely verify then i would have more confidence buying the off brand. until then, i would always be paranoid that as the above poster said, internals were subpar, LEDs werent high quality/good CRI, etc.

anyway, is there anything to be said about the maker standing behind the product on name brand vs. no name? if you had problems etc.?

I am very tempted to buy Aputure Amaran HR672C, it seems like a great led panel for a low price. One issue though. There are no barn doors included, and it doesn't seems at first glance that you can attach to this light. Does anyone of you have experience w older Amaran models, can you attach barn doors?

Not sure if barn doors make sense on that kind of LED (75° angle). The Airbox 1x1 softbox with egg crate to focus the light might be good. You're going to have significant light loss though. The HR672w should give you a bit more light so it might be a better choice for a softbox. There's the HR672s which is much brighter and has a narrow 25° angle.
