Fest Master
The time has come, another fest deadline is nearly upon us and we are happy to announce the opening of the upload phase for West Fest 2010.

Please be sure to read through the rules again to be sure you haven't missed anything, and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

Deadline for entries is July 19th, 2010 at 4pm Pacific Daylight Time (GMT - 7)

Some quick technical reminders:

  • Films must be submitted in h.264 format, as usual.
  • Movie file not to exceed 60MB
  • Film must include one of the approved DVXFest Leaders
  • Film not to exceed 6 minutes, plus the 9 second leader
  • Be sure to include your poster as one of the upload files.

Follow the link below to begin your upload:

You can download the approved leaders from the following location:

Approved DVX Fest Leaders

In the event you need to re-submit your film follow these steps:

  • Go to the above upload link (http://www.dvxfest.com/upload
  • Fill out all the relevant information on the upload form, using the same values as you did the first time. This will help the system identify the original film and successfully replace it.
  • Notify myself, Jason Ramsey or Zak Forsman via PM and let us know you submitted a revised film so we can confirm it was received and that it successfully replaced the original.

Just want to confirm for those outside of North America - Is PDT LA time? And is the video is due twenty three and a half hours from this post time?

The time referenced as the deadline is indeed Los Angeles, California time.

I just checked the current time in NZ and it says it is 5:30 AM, this means that 4PM Los Angeles, California time would be 12 noon in New Zealand

The leader we chose is 10 seconds (GoldDVX_H264), so total time is 6:10. Assuming that's cool?

(Note: If the length of the entry exceeds 6 Minutes PLUS the length of your chosen leader, it will be disqualified. NO EXCEPTIONS.) Example: Leader is :09 seconds. Film is 6:00. Total runtime would not exceed 6:09
I think you're good if your leader is ten seconds and you submit a 6:10 film.

Yea, you'll be fine. If anyone gives you guff tell them I said it was ok ... then I'll deny it and delete all traces of this message
