HVX 200 is at Panasonic again. Getting error messages when I try to change frame rates. Any scene file, but most often with F1.
Film Camera
default frame rate or any other frame rate
All other settings default
shutter 180

Then I go to recording set up
720p 30p
720p 30pn
720p 24p
720p 24pn

As soon as I hit menu to close out an shoot the screen goes blue and red letters flash....
System error
P2 micon error, or
system error
record ram overflow.
The camera has to be turned off to reset.
It doesn't seem to happen at 720 60i or any other normal video setting.

Needless to say, I am extremely bummed. I have had the camera for less than two months and it has been to Panasonic twice. I had to postpone a shoot the last time it went down and fortunately I don't have anything lined up for this weekend.
Has anyone else seen anything like this?

You're the first one that has seen this also. My assistant picked up the camera yesterday afternoon. I will be getting it back this morning and testing today and tomorrow, and I definitely will be changing settings quite often to see if I can get it to fail. The tech at Panasonic said it was a problem with one of the boards having an intermittent signal.
I must add that Jim (don't know his last name) at Panasonic has been terrific with response to this problem, and it is nice to see Jan involved. i am positive that this will be resolved to everyone's satisfaction.

It's great that Jan rallied so quickly in support of mavrickstunts' problem, but it almost seems as though she's heard of this kind of failure before. I haven't had time to try to replicate this problem on my camera but Jan - is this something the rest of us should be aware of?

Just so everyone knows. I got the camera back yesterday afternoon after a 2 and 1/2hour round trip to my assistant's home to pick up the camera. I hate L.A. traffic on a 100 degree Saturday afternoon. It took me less than 30 seconds to get the camera to error. The tech told me it was fixed, but obviously didn't read the copious notes on settings that I gave him.
Jan has stepped up and has set the replacement of the camera in motion. However, it looks like I have to ship the camera back to Armato's in NY. Then cool my heels until another camera is shipped. (What if one isn't available?) I will be calling Alan in the a.m. tomorrow to find out what the possible status is.

I just wanted everyone to know. Jan has really stepped up to the plate on this camera deal, as has Alan Ruppert at Armato's in NY. The camera is being shipped back to New York this a.m. overnight. I am on a priority list to receive a new camera.
This all is happening over the weekend and she left for Japan this morning.
I could not be happier with the service from Jan, Jim Fast at Panny and Alan from Armato's.
