Hi all, the EX-1 looks amazing in terms of quality!

BUT alot of the footage Im seeing has a bad motion rendition, are alot of people shooting with the shutter off??? 1/25th???
Kinda got that collateral/flicker removed/field blended look?

I dunno... please can someone post or direct me to a clip that has a decent shutter like 1/48th or 1/50th or higher even.

I really wanna get this camera but alot of shots have this video motion look?

PLEASE HELP!!!:undecided

I think it's just a slow or off shutter like you said. You talkin about the Charles Pappert M2 short? I saw that as well but otherwise in low motion it looks good.

I wanna see some higher shutter work, as well.

I think someone said that the EX ships with "shutter off" by default? If so, that would perhaps explain this as, yes, the EX1's "shutter off" would deliver a "collateral" type of look. Should be rectified by manually selecting 1/48th.

Ok... I just saw some footage over at dvinfo.net - it is a EX-1/HVX200 motion comparison, both cams were set to 1080/24P 1/48th shutter - and they look IDENTICAL to each other in terms of motion!!!

So sorry for causing any concerns, I was just worried by some of the EX-1/Letus footage I saw of Phillip Blooms - such great footage, I just wonder why the 1/25th shutter???

I hope the letus is not giving it that motion look because I want to get the letus for my EX too!!!

I don't know for sure, and I'm sure Phillip will answer, but 1/25 is nice to get that extra stop of exposure when shooting at night - with the expense of creating less pleasing motion for some.

Yeah, 1/25th is not too bad, definitely usable in an emergency.
I am talking of shots at daytime with slo shutter, not night.

Phill - your stuff is inspiring... please let me know if you were using 1/25th, or is it a letus thing?

Thanks.
