Weird echo while monitoring

Am I doing something wrong?

Using Senn 416 shotgun with DVX100B. I input mic to channel 2 and set both my CH1 SELECT and CH2 SELECT to input 2. I then have a headphone plugged into the headphone jack to monitor with.

When monitoring I hear everything with an echo (???) but while playing back everything sound fines. Obviously I must be doing something wrong?

Can someone help me fix this? It is very annoying and difficult to monitor when you hear everything TWICE >8[

Not sure on the DVX but on the HVX there is an option under camera settings. One option lets you hear a slightly delayed version versus live. I believe the delayed version is delivered after recording which I guess is slightly delayed... maybe someone else could explain that better, but live monitoring will fix your "echo"
