Hey Guys,
I have a weird issue that I am still troubleshooting the cause of and wondering if anyone can help me out. Recently had a Compact Flash card with some corrupt footage from a wedding. Weird playback issues when playing back the footage in a PC and the camera. After my panic attack, I tried file recovery software (Recuva and PhotoRec) and they did not work.
I looked into repair solutions and found some Mac-only software that I thought I would try. Borrowed a Mac, made a DMG image of the card and loaded the footage from the card into the software, only to find that the CF card decided to work after all! Works in my PC now too. What does a Mac do to the card that makes it work? Did it fix the file system of the card?
Now, I have the same issue. A different CF card (but same type/brand) from the 7D has some corrupt video from another wedding and I am thinking I should just borrow a mac again...
Any help appreciated!
