Quick question brought up by my DP as we're prepping for a shoot tomorrow. I have two GH2s, and on both of them, the LCD and HDMI preview images looks different than the output once the record button is pressed. When you press record, the output image (LCD and HDMI) adds what looks like some kind of gain - the colors wash out and the picture gets noisier. The picture dulls and loses vibrancy and DR. Since we can't record the stand-by image we get when we're not recording, we're not sure if this affects playback or is specific to the output viewing.
Both cams have similar settings going on, but one is factory firmware and the other is a Driftwood hack, so it's not specific to one firmware - that's why we think it might be settings based.
Anyone have any ideas? We'd love to know what's going on before the morning's shoot.
