I'm with a video production company that specializes in weddings. I have been using the Panasonic DVC200 full size camera.... we have recently purchased a couple of the dvx100a's, and the problem is with lighting... the dvc200's don't need much additional lighting at all, we use a max 20watt light and can capture images very will in dimly lit rooms. with the dvx100a i'm finding that in order to capture usable footage in a dim room, we have to be obnoxiously close to guests... we very strongly sell that fact that we are completely unobtrusive, but i'm having trouble staying out of the way with the new camera... any suggestions other than flooding the room? thank you.

If shooting in 24p, try using a shutter angle of 1/24, that adds a motion blur, but I am always amazed at how little light you can get away with.

18bd gain produces unacceptable video quality... i am extremely impressed with the video quality of the 24p setting, but not the ability to handle dim rooms... i will try the shutter speed... i just don't think i'm ready to give up my dvc200 yet...
