Wedding vid help: Wrong forum, but I need help, and I like you guys

Just an idea, but make sure the contract has a limit of liability clause. ..... The couple didn't win the hefty amount they wanted, but with a different case and different judge, who knows.... Bob Diaz

Good point Bob makes here and thanks Bob for adding it. Our agreements say right in it that "...in the unlikely event that the producer is unable to deliver any part, portion, or all of the production or services in this agreement, the Bride and Groom agree that the maximum limit of the liability by the producer to the Bride and Groom shall be limited up to but not to exceed the total value of all deposits and/or payments received."

As Bob points out, very important to specify that limit for as my attorney pointed out in the one and only complaint we've had to date, without detailing the limit of liability the complaint could have included suffering, hardship, and/or other expenses for photographs (since they are now more important because there is no video) and other similar extremes.

Again for clarification, our case was dismissed (found for our side) because as the Judge pointed out, our company had supplied what it stated it would supply and that there was no guarantee of the quality of the imagery or how much presentation was to be included but that we had supplied exactly what we said we were going to supply. This couple filed complaints against two other vendors we would learn after a few more months when our attorney was contacted as a point of case reference as to the intent of the plaintiff's.

Whew, glad we had that agreement. It still cost us about $700 in legal but would have been another 2000 for the liability otherwise.
