Wedding lighting

Looking to like parts of ceremony/reception on a budget until I can afford more expensive stuff. My budget is up to $500. Recently branched off doing weddings on my own, never had to worry about lighting until now. And input would be greatly appreciated. Doing a free wedding this Saturday so not too worried about perfection, however I would at least like to achieve proper exposure/shaping

I have just been round a similar loop for lighting (see DVX thread http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?353237-Anyone-tied-this-lighten-kit-for-interviews ) and the answer is take care that "inexpensive" isn't "too cheap"

I started out looking at the 500 GBP mark and ended up spending double that. The problem is that the 500 GBP/USD kits look good on paper but..... there are also some interesting comments on LED lighting and skin tones, which along with white dresses, will be important at wedding. The thread also has a lot of useful links to lights and information.

If you're by yourself and need to be fast, can't take over large areas, and your budget is $500, I would forget any soft light solutions. What about a used 300w Fresnel, high on a stand in a corner (or mounted), pointed right back in the lens? It could look great, while being a small area you can easily move from if the look isn't working.
