Wedding Demo Footage

the music sounds really sinister, which i don't think is the atmosphere you want to exude. although it's refreshing to hear something different! good visuals.

I thought it was really good! I enjoyed it. It was very powerful, almost too much.
Great work though.

You have some beautiful shots in there! I especially liked the reveal at :11. If that was handheld, it's very smooth.

However, there is something about the vo...it's not "present". It sounds tinny and distant. And I agree about the music being a bit too dark. And a little bit of a nitpick about the editing, but from about :25 on, it seems the only exteriors are from Temple Square. It would help if a couple of those were swapped for equivalent shots of other buildings.

it kind of reminded me of the mac commerical during the 1984 superbowl. kind of big brother for a wedding video demo.

Like others have said, the visuals are great, but the music is almost unimaginably inappropriate. I'd say it works a little better than death metal would have.

So...easy fix. Just change to some warm, uplifting, inspring music that feels like a bright new future is coming, and problem solved. The music as it is now fells like you're about to cut to a bloody murder scene at any given moment.

But again, the visuals, which are the much harder part, look great.

The voice over's writing and performance are ok, but a little hard-sell-ish. Like the music, a warmer, more uplifting tone would be much more effective. Sales tools like these shouldn't actually sound like they're trying to convince you of something's value. When they succeed, they do so by subconsciouly making the listener irresistibly *want* the thing, almost always by associating it with a highly pleasurable outcome. Simply telling the customer how great a thing is doesn't accomplish that.

My $.02

I enjoyed the visuals very much, however, I agree with nearly everyone that the music is just to dramatic ( and is copyrighted!) I feel like perhaps you were using dramatic music to create an awe inspiring view of the company, and how professional you/they are. However, in this instance it's important to remember your not selling your company so much as what your company can do! Give your piece that quintessential wedding feeling, including audio, to make a better promo piece. You obviously have enough creativity and talent to make even a cookie cutter promo your own, original, and appealing, so don't feel like you need to stray to far from it to be original!

The music was like weddings for goth chicks (only the black wedding dresses & tats are missing).

I pretty much agree with the board. Footage is very good, the music doesn't match...at all.

Too bad you dont have persmission to use the "requiem of a dream". Honestly that song is not going with that speech or the footage.

That sounds exactly like that score, it is by the Kronos Quartet for the movie. Interesting choice. Liked the footage, first shot took me in...

woah post from long ago, but yeah in addition any of the overtures from requiem for a dream in trailers or ads are about as overused as sigur ros in 35mm adapter videos.
