Wedding Clip

Re: Wedding Clip

i have some constructive criticism

The Images are great, if not shakey, hand-held. the opening shot could be done with a freeze frame, since the image moves up and down quite noticably.

Also the transitions between the Photos and the father and the bride are a little distracting. they don't flow.

the superimposed shot of them dancing at sunset over the Mid-afternoon skyline doesn't make sense. your hold on that shot after the dancers dissolve is a little too long.

Maybe you should start with the father walking his daughter down the asile from the beginning. it would give a sense of movement and progression. he gives his daughter away, and the point of the dance is to show that she is STILL Daddy's little girl.

some minor flip-flops of clips in your sequence, and you have a winner!

Re: Wedding Clip

The only thing I could comment on is the golf carts, they are very distracting and give away your location.

Re: Wedding Clip

slow motion is too slow, about half that would look better.

for future shoots, use some close-ups and medium shots of the bride and father. Breaks up the master shot monotony.

Colors looked nice. Opening shot was too long, looked like you started to move with the bird as it was flying too..

maybe cut to another angle of them dancing instead of one shot dancing to one photo, to one shot dancing... perhaps a series of photos, then some different angles of them dancing. Get a close up of her looking into her father's eyes and vice versa - money shot right there.

Re: Wedding Clip

This was one of those situations that we had to make lemonade out of lemons. I had a timecode issue on the tape, we have since figured out what happened. (You cannot rewind to watch what you shoot very often and then try to move to where you stopped.) I lost the dance on the handheld, I thought I was recording but I lost about 20 minutes. There is this 20 minute gap. My wife had big heads walking in front of her on the other camera. So I had her and her father dance outside for about a minute.

I have some good stuff from a wedding this past weekend, I will put up some more stuff for critiquing.

I truly appreciate everyone's thoughts and opinions, I was limited on what I could do, I did take out them dancing over the Ocean City Skyline, I fixed some of the transitions, but I didn't have much else to work with after losing footage.

Thanks everyone.
