'After Nightfall'

When an 18 year old boy from a small town is murdered, everyone is a suspect. His family, his drug dealing Uncle, his boyfriend, his ex-boyfriend and conservative parents, the town thug and the sleazy local bookshop owner.

This is a 6 part web series posted to facebook recently that I found and thought I would share. Shot on an F5, 4K, Schneider Xenon FF cine primes.
DP is Nicholas Price.

Only the first 3 are released so far.

What's your opinion of it Starcentral? Not the story but the image. Not the cinematography either. Just the image.

Watching all 3 shows, I think the 3rd episode probably has the best overall "look". some shots in EP 1 and 2 really lend that Sony look. Is it really sony or just the lighting?... hard to say. There was some overuse of lighting in a few shots that even with another camera would't have made it look significantly better.

I think Nicholas Price the DP did a really great job lighting these however. What I think would have really made the images look better was use of some diffusion filter. I don't know if he used one or not, but I can ask. Filters are underused by many including myself but really help give an image some more character and can help erase a clinical and stock camera look.
