So for SEVERAL months now I've been trying to acquire funding for an online startup. Everyone I've met with loves the business plan, raves about the potential, but for one reason or another is unable to loosen their purse strings enough to help actually get this going so that I can PAY a team to develop the site.
So now I'm wondering about bringing someone into the business on an equity/partnership for their development of the site. The site is an employment based site (think Monster), but with a web 2.0 facebook style interface/look. Very simple, streamlined, and fast.
Without going into the business model too much, I can say that the site will be able to drive traffic to video production professionals...specifically I plan for that to be through DVXuser somehow ... my reason for posting this question here, as it seems a fair place to ask.
So, anyone know of any SMART, experienced and creative web development experts who may be looking for something new to do & be a part of? If I were to have a pro team build the site, I'd probably be looking around $100K to have it done in 4+ months. I'd probably be able to get an individual to do it for $25-30K in 6+ months.
Since at this point I can afford neither option, I'm looking to provide 30% of the company (already another partner) in equity/stock. The business model which has been highly conservative reflects about $1.5MM+ in gross sales after 12 months of full operational business.
I know I may get berated for posting this here, but I'm at a loss & looking for any leads at this point for folks that not only have the ability, but also the desire to do something complex for ownership in the company.
