Weather Protection and Case.....

Hi everyone,

So after narrowly escaping some foul New England weather while shooting outside I have conceded that I am cheap and will now buy some weather protectio/housingn for the HPX.

Anyone have any recommendations (both what to get and from where-- B&H doesn't seem to have anything in stock).

ALSO, I have a rolling bag that I got from B&H for the camera. Works ok (the handle broke a month or so in so it doesn't go down all the way but oh well) but I have to dissemble the camera to fit it in and move it around.

Are the cases people recommend out there with wheels but also allow you to keep the camera intact when moving? Is that a bad idea?

Thanks!

I have the Kata CBP-3 (Grizzly-3) Back Pack with the insert trolley(wheels) but I mostly use it as a back pack because I am doing a lot of nature shooting. The camera fits inside fully assembled... not sure it could fit with a matte box attached.

I like it quite a bit. My only complaint is that it is too big to fit in the overhead compartment of an airplane.

I also have the Kata camera glove which is great and comes with a rain cover. I haven't tried out the rain cover yet so I don't know what it's like to work with.

PortaBrace Rain Slicker. I lucked out... found a used one on eBay for $35! Haven't used it in the rain yet, but have put it on & seems it'll provide good protection.

I use the PortaBrace quickdraw camera case. About $400 new. Wouldn't want to bounce the 500 on a wheeled bag, myself.
