WB sensor

On the DVX there seems to be a white balance sensor. What is the function of this sensor because the WB is set TTL in these cams.

it's for the auto white tracking mode.

Correct; manual white balance takes place through the lens, but automatic white tracking uses that sensor.

Thanks Barry. So on AWB it doesn't track the scene light properties, but rather the local ambient light. Does the sensor look as a white window as seen on older cams?
